AFTER THE BATH

AFTER THE BATH

I LEAN OVER BROWN TILE

WITH IMPRINT FLOWERS

WATER STREAKS ACROSS

THE MIRROR

THROUGH THE STREAM

I SEE MYSELF

NOW A GROWN WOMAN

IN MY PARENT’S HOUSE

NO LONGER THE CHILD

RUNNING WATER

PRETENDING TO WASH.
