QUOTE OF THE DAY -ALL ABOUT ANDY KAUFMAN

Standard

WHILE ALL THE OTHER KIDS WERE OUT PLAYING BALL AND STUFF, I USED TO STAY IN MY ROOM AND IMAGINE THERE WAS A CAMERA IN THE WALL. AND I USED TO RELLY BELIEVE THAT I WAS PUTTING ON A TELEVISION SHOW AND IT WAS GOING OUT TO SOMEWHERE IN THE WORLD.

Andy Kaufman -Andrew Geoffrey Kaufman 1949-1984. An American entertainer, actor and performance artist. HE considered himself a song dance and man, and took disdain to being called a comedian. He started entertaining at the age of 8. HE took on the role of “foreign man” Latka Gravis, and did many impersonations. Elvis, Tony Clifton, an obnoxious singer. HE appeared on “taxi” 1978, as Latka, the foreign man. He was an eccentric   who would not break a role and much to the audiences annoyance kept on.

In the following clips are examples of his humor. He has a cult following to this day.

imageI wanted a perfect ending, now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next. Delicious amiguity. GILDA RADNER
